T.I. was spotted early voting Wednesday (10/29/08) after it was brought to his attention that he had the privilege to vote. T.I is NOT a convicted felon just yet, which means under Georgia Law, he’s still eligible because he’s not currently serving probation or a prison sentence.
After standing in line for less than 10 minutes T.I. told the Associated Press, “It’s a relief.” This was T.I’s first time voting in his life. “This what it is all about, not staying up late and waking up early to vote. Now rather than just talking about it, I’m being about it. I’m leading by example, and it makes me feel a lot better.” Word is he also signed autographs and took photos with several fans.
T.I‘s lawyer Steve Sadow stated to the press, “Until he is sentenced in the federal case, he doesn’t have a conviction yet. Even though he is a convicted felon, he has a right to vote since he is not serving probation and hasn’t started his prison sentence.”
Congrats to T.I.! He’s been out spreading the word as part of his “Respect My Vote” Campaign. However, he was able to lead by example!!
