Seems like everyone is coming out with new singles/albums to close out the 08 year.

Leona Lewis ft. Cassidy- Nowhere To Go

Honestly, I didn’t think Leona Lewis had it in her to collaborate with hip-hop artists. She seemed like a very good solo artist with a beautiful voice, but that was it as far as I was concerned. Too innocent, too sweet and too squeaky clean to survive this sex driven, male dominated industry. Ever since I saw her perform with Lil Wayne at this years MTV VMA’s, it really shut me up. She really has the ability to smooth out a track. I think the beat is…. cute, but the Cassidy ad libs all through out the hook was… unnecessary. It’s decent, but not a hit. 3 of 5 stars.

Alicia Keys & Jack White- Another Way To Die (James Bond Theme)

Besides the song starting 45 seconds after the beat drops, it was…. The much talked about Bond theme has finally been released to the public and while I’m not sold at the moment, it will eventually grow on me. I think. The beat was very…. “Bond”, and I felt like it competed too much with Alicia’s voice. 3 of 5 stars.

Come Over ft. Sean Paul- Estelle

What can’t this girl do? She raps, she sings and she is now dabbling in reggae. Loves it! The Sean Paul assisted track is just the kind of flavor we need for the rather dull and unoriginal music that is being put out these days. Very smooth and laid back but still spicy and flavorful at the same time. Is this possible? 5 of 5 stars

P.S. Glad too see Sean Paul is back

LeToya Luckett ft. Avant- Somebody Else

With nobody in her way to stop her this go ’round, LeToya seems more determined than ever. When her chart topping debut solo single ‘Torn’ soared to number 1 in  no time, it was obvious she had it and it even shocked a couple folks. This duet with the very talented but under-rated sensation, Avant, proves to be another hit for Ms. Luckett.  Jealousy and possessiveness never sounded so good. Loves it! 5 of 5 stars

Just Stand Up- Various Artists

It’s beautiful when women come together for a good cause. We need to come together more often for things like this. I Love it! Good song, good concept and the best artists to carry it out.
